FAIRMONT — Three Rivers Conference co-champions Fairmont and East Columbus placed four players apiece on the all-conference first team it was announced Friday morning.

The Golden Tornadoes' Ryan Gibson was named as the conference's player of the year, while Fairmont's Sandy Thorndyke and East Columbus' Karl Bracey were tabbed as co-coaches of the year.

Besides Gibson, Fairmont also placed Kyle Britt, Colton Barnhill and Cain Wilkerson on the first team, while Josh Jones, Josh Ammons, Tyler Gibson and Jonathan Callahan were named to the all-conference second team.

St. Pauls and South Robeson each placed two on the first and second teams. Martin Jones and Kelton Brayboy were selected to the first team from St. Pauls, while South Robeson's Jordan Campbell and Casey Chavis were honored.

Earning the second team honors from St. Pauls was Devan Locklear and Kolby Inman, while Timothy Carter and Jeremy Lewis grabbed the accolades for the Mustangs.

Red Springs only placed one player on each team, Damontra Yates was the first team honoree, while Brandon Klingenschmidt was the second team selection.

In softball, South Robeson's Kalneisha Drawhorn shared conference player of the year honors with Shanita Hampton of East Columbus.

St. Pauls had three players tapped for first-team honors and three more were selected for the second team.

The Bulldogs' Nikki Thacker, Andrea Tyler and Andrea Bound were first-team picks, while Rebekah Mintac, Ebony Hogan and Kassie Bound were named to the second team.

Joining Drawhorn on the first team from South Robeson was Constance Carter. Chelsea Jacobs and Tawanaka Hunt were second-team selections.

Fairmont placed Sencerae Locklear and Hayleigh McCormick on the first team and Victoria Hunt and Courtney Hunt on the second unit.

Red Springs' Tashira Patterson made the conference's first team, while Jamie Bounds was a second-team honoree.
