LUMBERTON — The Communications Department with the Public Schools of Robeson County recently received 10 Blue Ribbon awards during the North Carolina Public Relations Associations’s annual Awards for Effective Communications.
The awards are given to those who create exceptional pieces of media during the 2014-2015 school year. Thirty-nine school districts were recognized nd a total of 229 awards were given in eight categories.
Tasha Oxendine, public relations officer with the Public Schools of Robeson County, won a bronze award for the district’s Facebook page; a gold award for her “My School Is a Winner” video; three silver awards in the Excellence in Writing category for articles on graduation, the planetarium and Early College High School; a bronze award for the “PSRC Back to School Celebration 2015” marketing campaign; a silver award for a graduation photo; a bronze award for a spring fling photo; and a silver award for the “Public Schools of Robeson County Opening Day” program.
Jared Wilkins, webmaster for the Public Schools of Robeson County, received two silver awards for his work with the school district’s website.
